Belleview Park

There’s a park here in Greenwood Village called ‘Belleview Park’ (So glad they didn’t call it Belleview butcher shoppe since it’s a park, huh?). Amazingly it is on a road called Belleview. However, this park, being a good model of ‘park wisdom’ has a petting zoo ($1.00 for children over 2 through adults aged 197 and a half, over that and you get in free), they also have a little small scale train that runs through the park. Jessica and I spent $4.00 today for the three of us to have fun, can you beat that? I don’t think so.

The park also has the typical park things like grass, a small bit of water running through it (that is a river/stream thingy) lots of playing equipment as well as grills for barbecuing. On top of this already nice list for a park they have covered areas where you can gather. It’s nice that the covers are on top 🙂

Good-Bye Pinecorn

Abby, having amused us with ‘Green Sheep’ has fortunately/unfortunately outgrown ‘pinecorn’ in her vocabulary. What is a pinecorn? It is a yellow fleshed fruit that is prickly on the outside that doesn’t grow on trees: a pineapple. For several months they’ve been pinecorn but finally she’s picked up that they’re pineapple and now we say good-bye to an old new word.

Missing Euless

I’m missing Euless. OK, not really Euless by itself, but the Main Street Barbecue in Euless. The barbecue there is so excellent that when I have other barbecue (with the exception of some ribs we made here that were outstanding) I’m sad and miss their food. We ate at Red’s 360 Grill in Carson City and it just wasn’t even close. The food was good, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t on the same level as ‘Main Street’. I’m salivating right now thinking about it.

One More Picture

And Here the Vernon J. Peterman family is, shortly after the ceremony, but not long enough after the ceremony for Becky to have kissed Kurt, her new husband, enough 😉

From left to right: Randy [most of his hair], Ed [none of his hair], Nancy/Mom [black hair], Becky [Duh, the one in the white dress], Vern/Dad [not a lot of hair]
And now…… I’m going to bed.

New Look and New Pictures

So this site now looks like the main ‘professional’ site. This is to make you think that I live in the cold, fridgid mountains of C0lorado. It also makes my friends in Texas moderately jealous because we’ve had mild weather. I love them though, even though they live in a hot, hot, hot place. This also enables the search feature for the site so that you can find our Christmas Wishlist, rants about Elvis and other such nonsense.

I also put new pictures of Abby and Brennan up (and Hannah and Heidi, my cousins). Shari, my wonderful Sister-in-law, also put up some pictures on the photo section. You will see three vegetables watching a sponge – who lives in a pineapple under the sea. If you desire any of these photos in a larger, screen saver/wallpaper format please don’t hesitate to send me an email.

Also, I’m married to a wonderful woman. I should hithertoforemention* our daughter is priceless 😉

* hithertoforemention is not a real word, but it sounds good. My father-in-law John would not allow it in Scrabble.

Tip: Forgot WordPress Password

If you’ve forgotten your WordPress password use a database administration tool (phpMyAdmin is my tool of choice) to remove the password from the WordPress table and then run the install.php script again (that may require you to remove a lock file on the server). Whatever your new password is, write it down and then immediately login to wp-admin and then go to your profile and change the password. Then destroy the paper with the auto-generated password just in case.
