  1. Hi,
I am Jewish and I am very curious what lyrics in MATISYAHU’s songs you are in disagreement with “theologically.” Anything on its face, or just the knowlege of the nature of his beliefs.
    Thanks,
    Beth

  2. randy I hate it when people like you say they cant agree with peoples points of view just because of religion you can agree if you think what their saying is right even if you dont agree it wouldnt hurt to empathetic and try to see it from anothers persons perspective

  3. Harry,
I do understand their point of view. I have spent a great amount of time studying Jewish theology to better understand Christian theology. I don’t agree with his point of view because it rejects the New Testament texts. The point of this post was to say that his theology is different from mine, but his musical style is good. That is as close to empathy as I can get. You see religion is not all opinion, the reason Matisyahu believes what he believes is not because he thinks its a nice opinion, but because he’s a conservative Jew who believes it is Truth!

I hate it when people like you say that I should agree with other peoples points of view by disagreeing with mine. Its like being intollerant of intollerance: it makes you contradict yourself.

  4. I’m cathlic. I try to always keep a open mind. I have to say I Love this band. I’ve in to reggae fro almost 16 years. MATISYAHU is that band that I blast in my car on the way home from work, and to work. He gives me a since of relief. Anyways, My kids, and I, love this group. Again, I’m cathlic and people need to try and come together and work there veiws out.

  5. I’ll assume you’re Catholic, Truman, but you’ve missed the point of my post: I love the music, I disagree with the thology. I warn people of that because the regular readers of this blog are often concerned with theology. It appears to me that you aren’t concerned with this, which is your right, I was just warning the readers of this blog that the theology doesn’t match up with conservative, dispensational, non-denominational theology. I would make a similar warning were I to link to music by someone with a more charismatic theological orientation.
