Lights will be Out

The lights for this blog (me) will be out for the next few days as we re-locate to Denver. This also means that I’m going to be tired when we get there, pray that my dad and I arrive safely and that all of our stuff stays in good shape while being jostled around in the back of the truck.

Had a great time today at the company “Yeah Randy’s Leaving Party.”
We went to the Gaylord Texan resort on Lake Grapevine.
WOW!
What a huge resort, definitely cool and definitely bigger than I expected.
I look forward to coming back and visiting that place!

One more day until I get to Denver.

Nick’s Better!

Yeah! Nick is feeling better now and I’m glad that he’s on the road to recovery. Pity that he had five bits of bone removed from his neck, but it’s good that he’s better!

Continue praying for his recovery as I’m sure his precious little girl will be wanting to play again shortly.

William Hung

William Hung cannot sing.
But that has not stopped him from being one of the most entertaining entertainers on the market right now.
He cracks me up with his inability to hold a note, botch a melody and create brand new rhythms where none were before.

That said, thanks Robin for the new CD, it cracks me up! Abby, Jessica and I will listen to it and think of you (and maybe thinking of turning it off, or fast forwarding like we did in the car).

Archives

Today as I packed up my office I found old notes from the vaporware program WorldClient Pro 3.0. I am so glad we’re not still working on an independent version of WorldClient. It is nice that WorldClient is integrated into MDaemon.
I’m an emotional mess today, just like yesterday.
I’m starting to miss my friends and I haven’t left them yet!

I haven’t heard anything on Nick Bradbury’s surgery yet, but I’ll keep you posted.

I get to see Jessica in two days!

Oh, and the two guys I had scheduled to help me load the truck on Wednesday had to cancel on me because one of them has a very sick wife (pray for Amy Gomez’s health, and widsom for her doctors) and the other just started some school program to become a weather man.
OK, so the second guy’s not going to become a weatherman, he’s going to become a Heating and Airconditioning unit repairmant, which is like controlling the ‘weather’ in your house.

This may put us a little behind, but not too bad.

Feeling a Little Better about not owning a Mac

So I’ve talked about wanting a Macintosh recently… at least since South By South West.
However, after reading Jeffrey Zeldman’s latest article about upgrading, I don’t feel so bad. I went through a similar issue with Windows XP Professional, so I hope that Zeldman doesn’t feel too bad.

I’ve got a little more packing to do, I’m getting really close to done.
Tomorrow will be my last day at Alt-N… sad.

The Switch

OK, since you know that I’m moving to CO, and you know that the end is near for all things in my life involving being a Texas resident, I’m making an even bigger switch: I’m switching to WordPress for my blogging software. For over a year I’ve worked on my own solution, which I’ve privately called ‘blogJack’ (think Lumber Jack, not car jack, think construction, not highjack… nevermind). However, WordPress is great, it’s free and it gives me little tools to enhance what I can blog about. I’ll work on porting the nearly 200 articles currently on this site (did you think I was that prolific? I didn’t) into WordPress as well as pictures of Abby.

http://www.randypeterman.com/wordpress/index.php is the URL to the new blog. The RSS feeds will be moved over there too, but if you point your RSS reader to the index.php page it may very well auto-detect the RSS URL’s, otherwise you can copy and paste the links into your reader… they’re provided on the bottom right hand side of the page (currently, this location may change without notice).

Welcome!

Welcome to this new site, I’ll be porting things over… be patiend please as this may take some time. In the end it will be better for all of us 🙂 I’ll be able to post quick links to goofy things that I usually only send to via IM because I’m such a nut. That alone should increase visits to this site 🙂

Confused Person

I am confused.

I am really confused.

I have browser issues.

I love Mozilla Firefox but I’ve also been using Opera 7, which has a few nice bells and whistles. In fact, right now I’m writing this post in Opera 7’s Aqua theme, which makes me feel a little better about not owning an Apple.

Will the world ever be safe for me?
I doubt it.
