Introducing 100 Year Domain Service

Network Solutions sent me an email saying that I could register www.randypeterman.com for 100 years to protect it from web squatters. Doh! That would be a brilliant scheme, I need to figure out how to get people to protect something for longer than their lifetime, and possibly longer than the lifetime of their company. I think that this is brilliant, and if I had my way I’d sell them insurance on it, too 🙂

Potty Training

Abby started some pre-potty-training potty training today. Jessica put her on her little training seat and Abby was pleased with this. However, Abby discoverd that she needed to go potty once seated and promptly stood up and peed all over the floor. I suppose that these are the whoas that we’ll be dealing with in this process, but it is really quite funny.

Hopefully all of this will be behind us soon as Abby’s a sharp girl and will figure it out.

Progress

OK, so we’re getting closer to being ‘unpacked.’
Friday night a storm of people descended on our apartment complex and helped us unload.
On top of that they unloaded the truck in about one and a half hours.
A neat group of folks to say the least.

Also, just as amazing was that one of the fellows at the church had access to a very nice office set that he installed.
My new office is even nicer than the one I had while working at Alt-N.
We are truly blessed.

I’ve got lots more to write, but right now I’m on dial-up and so I’ll wait until I get some broadband again and then post some video footage of things from around the complex and in our apartment.

One and the Same

We got in at 1:00 AM.
I woke up at 5:45 AM.
I’m going to be ready for a nap by 9:00 AM, the thing that really gets me is
that I’ve got a headache due to a lack of caffeine.
The upside to that is my sister works at Starbuck’s, so I’ll probably get
some coffee soon.

It is so wonderful to see Jessica and Abby woke up last night so I got to see
her, but I didn’t get to cuddle her like I like to because she was tired
and didn’t want anything to do with me, she wanted mommy.

I’ll write some more when the time arrives.

The Drive

Whoa.
We are pooped but we’re driving right now to Denver, we’re persevering all
the way.
We’ll get there close to 1:00 AM in the morning, but it will be good to be
done driving.
My eyes are wiped our from looking the same distance in front of me so I’m
looking at the monitor to try to reduce their stress.
We’re listening to the White Stripes on the laptop to keep ourselves awake.

Today has been a good day, there’s not much I can say for it other than I’m
glad I’m with my dad.
If I was doing this all by myself, I wouldn’t be doing it.
This is a long drive, no trading off of driving responsibilities, and Kansas’
knack for putting museums every 400 feet make it almost insane.
One word of warning: Yesterday we had Chipotle for dinner (read: beans) and
then today we’re driving (read: confined spaces) so you do the math
(actually, we didn’t have gas, we’re driving a diesel, I’m just messing with your mind).

Colorado’s max speed limit is 75 , which is great, however, our truck will
not move that fast.
It has a governor of 70 miles per hour, which is fine, because with the
towing dolly with the Honda on it going 75 could be completely dangerous.

Good Night

OK, It’s 12:00 (+ or – a few minutes) and I’m going to bed. The packing is 99% done and tomorrow I’ll put the last few things into their ‘homes’ and then head to pick up the moving truck. I pick up dad from the airport aroun 9:00 AM, and then we’re off to the races.
My friend and ex-co-worker Dave will be helping out too if all goes as planned.

I love this wireless setup because I can break it down rapidly tomorrow and may not do so until we’re officially leaving. Woo-Hoo!

Cute Kiddo

Dave’s website is not what I’ve been linking to. It’s www.davidohara.net, not the .com I was linking to before. You should go there and check out the pictures of his cute little girl. I’ll warn you now that they’re large images, but Makena is so cute that it’s worth the look.
