Zeldman to be a Dad
I can’t believe it, but other people are having kids. Evidenced by this announcement.
Which leads me to say, “Pray for those trying and who seem to be having difficulties.”
One and the Same
We got in at 1:00 AM.
I woke up at 5:45 AM.
I’m going to be ready for a nap by 9:00 AM, the thing that really gets me is
that I’ve got a headache due to a lack of caffeine.
The upside to that is my sister works at Starbuck’s, so I’ll probably get
some coffee soon.
It is so wonderful to see Jessica and Abby woke up last night so I got to see
her, but I didn’t get to cuddle her like I like to because she was tired
and didn’t want anything to do with me, she wanted mommy.
I’ll write some more when the time arrives.
The Drive
Whoa.
We are pooped but we’re driving right now to Denver, we’re persevering all
the way.
We’ll get there close to 1:00 AM in the morning, but it will be good to be
done driving.
My eyes are wiped our from looking the same distance in front of me so I’m
looking at the monitor to try to reduce their stress.
We’re listening to the White Stripes on the laptop to keep ourselves awake.
Today has been a good day, there’s not much I can say for it other than I’m
glad I’m with my dad.
If I was doing this all by myself, I wouldn’t be doing it.
This is a long drive, no trading off of driving responsibilities, and Kansas’
knack for putting museums every 400 feet make it almost insane.
One word of warning: Yesterday we had Chipotle for dinner (read: beans) and
then today we’re driving (read: confined spaces) so you do the math
(actually, we didn’t have gas, we’re driving a diesel, I’m just messing with your mind).
Colorado’s max speed limit is 75 , which is great, however, our truck will
not move that fast.
It has a governor of 70 miles per hour, which is fine, because with the
towing dolly with the Honda on it going 75 could be completely dangerous.
Good Night
OK, It’s 12:00 (+ or – a few minutes) and I’m going to bed. The packing is 99% done and tomorrow I’ll put the last few things into their ‘homes’ and then head to pick up the moving truck. I pick up dad from the airport aroun 9:00 AM, and then we’re off to the races.
My friend and ex-co-worker Dave will be helping out too if all goes as planned.
I love this wireless setup because I can break it down rapidly tomorrow and may not do so until we’re officially leaving. Woo-Hoo!
“Weird Al’s” Parents Die in Tragic Accident
Reuters.com reports that Weird Al’s parents apparently died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Our sincerest sympathies and genuine prayers for him. We pray they knew Christ and are now joining Him for eternity.
Cute Kiddo
Dave’s website is not what I’ve been linking to. It’s www.davidohara.net, not the .com I was linking to before. You should go there and check out the pictures of his cute little girl. I’ll warn you now that they’re large images, but Makena is so cute that it’s worth the look.
Lights will be Out
The lights for this blog (me) will be out for the next few days as we re-locate to Denver. This also means that I’m going to be tired when we get there, pray that my dad and I arrive safely and that all of our stuff stays in good shape while being jostled around in the back of the truck.
Had a great time today at the company “Yeah Randy’s Leaving Party.”
We went to the Gaylord Texan resort on Lake Grapevine.
WOW!
What a huge resort, definitely cool and definitely bigger than I expected.
I look forward to coming back and visiting that place!
One more day until I get to Denver.
Nick’s Better!
Yeah! Nick is feeling better now and I’m glad that he’s on the road to recovery. Pity that he had five bits of bone removed from his neck, but it’s good that he’s better!
Continue praying for his recovery as I’m sure his precious little girl will be wanting to play again shortly.
William Hung
William Hung cannot sing.
But that has not stopped him from being one of the most entertaining entertainers on the market right now.
He cracks me up with his inability to hold a note, botch a melody and create brand new rhythms where none were before.
That said, thanks Robin for the new CD, it cracks me up! Abby, Jessica and I will listen to it and think of you (and maybe thinking of turning it off, or fast forwarding like we did in the car).
Resting in Him,
Randy Peterman
