Mixed Nuts

I love mixed nuts.
I think that is one of the singular reasons why I go to family reunions.
Just kidding, I go to family reunions so that I can show off my daughter.
But I do love mixed nuts.
I love grabbing a handful of tasty treats throwing them in my mouth and tasting the flavor of my favorite nut.
I’m talking about salt of course.

I love that in mixed nuts you get some almonds, pecans, cashews, peanuts, brazil nuts and about 5 pounds of salt.
Salted nuts are the bane of my existence.
Like a famous brand of chips, I cannot eat just one handful of salted, mixed nuts.
I love the salt.
Sure the nuts get little bits stuck in my teeth and I may spend the next 20 minutes running my tongue around my molars trying to dislodge little bits of nut, but the salt makes it all worth while.

And you can’t brush your teeth after eating mixed nuts, at least no right away, or else you get that minty fresh toothpaste rubbing nutbutter all over your molars.
And so you get a peanut butter and mint flavored brushing experience.
That is why they sell carbonated beverages.
The carbonation, along with removing a portion of your tooth, helps clean out your mouth, removing the bits of nut, other snacks and that piece of popcorn from three nights ago that seemed like it was never coming out.
So, in short, I love mixed nuts and then some soda (Diet Coke, usually) and then, some water followed by a good tooth brushing.

Don’t forget to floss.
